Job summary

Singapore General Hospital is seeking a dedicated Instrument Technical Assistant to manage sterile processing of surgical instruments and equipment. You will decontaminate, inspect, prepare, package, sterilise, store and distribute instruments to operating theatres and procedural rooms.

You will also troubleshoot and repair a range of simple biomedical equipment to maximise equipment availability for patient care.

Qualifications

• Sterile processing of instruments including decontamination, inspection, packaging, sterilisation, storage and distribution.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair simple diagnostics and biomedical equipment to maximise equipment availability.
• Willingness to perform 3 rotating shifts including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide sterile and serviceable surgical instruments and equipment to operating theatres and procedural rooms.
• Ensure all aspects of sterile processing are completed to meet quality and safety standards.

You are responsible for the provision of sterile and serviceable surgical instruments and equipment to operating theatres and procedural rooms by ensuring all aspects of sterile processing: decontamination, inspection, preparation, packaging, sterilisation, storage and distribution. You will also be required to troubleshoot and repair a variety of simple diagnostics and therapeutic biomedical equipment to maximise equipment availability for patient care.

Job Requirements

• Diploma in Engineering or related fields
• 3 years working experience as Instrument Technical Assistant or sterile processing unit will be preferred
• Able to perform 3 rotating shifts (8am to 4.35pm; 1pm to 9.35pm; 9pm to 7.30am), including weekends and public holidays
