A leading educational service provider seeks an Instructor Assistant to support vocational training for individuals with special needs. This role includes overseeing daily activities, assisting instructors with lesson plans, and ensuring a conducive learning environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about making a difference and have the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups.
Job Responsibilities:
Training & Supervision Support
Assist the Instructor in managing daily work activities (e.g., sorting, cleaning, packing, assembling).
Provide step-by-step guidance and hands-on supervision to trainees.
Reinforce social skills, soft skills, and work discipline in a structured setting.
Support in conducting daily exercises, cleaning, and other routine activities.
Modify work tasks to ensure all trainees can participate effectively.
Creating and adapting teaching materials and instructional aids.
Classroom & Operational Support
Ensure trainees meet work expectations and deadlines.
Help maintain a safe, organized, and structured learning environment.
Cover for instructors in other contract work or production classes when needed.
Support special events, pop-up booths, awareness campaigns, and vocational training initiatives.
Stakeholder & Partner Collaboration
Work closely with instructors, vocational trainers, and APSN’s Allied Professionals (AP) team.
Assist in coordinating work orders and deliverables with external partners.
Provide feedback on trainee progress and challenges to instructors.
Administrative Responsibilities
Maintain attendance records, allowance, and progress tracking reports.
Assist in submitting reports on work performance and output quality.
Ensure proper documentation of trainees’ daily activities and work completion status.
Job Requirements:
At least possess G.C.E N Level
Passionate about making a difference to improve the lives of special needs in the community
Ability to assist instructors to roll out lesson plan and intervention plans for PWIDs
Create good student development and classroom management plan
Experience working with chronic conditions such as special Needs / Mental Illness is a plus
Possess good problem solving skills to identity needs and create action plans
Able to communicate with diverse groups; maintaining confidentiality; working as part of team and meeting deadlines and schedules
Willingness to cover other classes and take on ad-hoc tasks as needed.
Able to support special events, pop-up booths, and training initiatives.
Open to learning and applying best practices in special needs vocational training.
