Job Summary
The job holder (2 years contract) reports to the Assistant Director CDLT and is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing effective learning experiences, including the integration of technology to enhance the learning process.
The jobholder is required to collaborate with educators, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to design and develop instructional materials that align with educational goals and leverage innovative teaching methods.
- Work in cross-functional teams to design and develop learning materials in accordance with proposed design
- Design assessment rubrics
- Design evaluation instruments and carry out planned evaluation activities
- Scan for emerging technologies and evaluate the pedagogical affordances
- Participate in or lead special projects as required
The job holder is expected to work from 8.30 am to 6.00 pm on weekdays and may be required to work over weekends and public holidays to support MENDAKI’s events. Although primarily working indoors, frequent travel for meetings is expected.
Key Responsibility Areas
a. Instructional Design
- Conduct needs assessments to identify knowledge and skills gaps and determine effective instructional strategies
- Apply instructional design principles, including UX design, to create intuitive instructional materials and user-friendly learning experiences, including e-learning modules, multimedia presentations, and interactive simulations
- Develop storyboards and prototypes outlining the flow and structure of instructional content
- Utilize learning technologies and tools to enhance instructional design and delivery
- Coordinate multimedia development, including graphics, videos, and interactive components, with graphic and video developers
- Ensure seamless integration of multimedia elements into instructional design
- Conduct usability testing and incorporate feedback to optimize usability
- Collaborate with stakeholders for input and continuous improvement
- Work closely with subject matter experts to translate complex concepts into accessible learning materials
b. Assessment & Evaluation
- Design assessments to measure the effectiveness of instructional materials and learning outcomes
- Review formative and summative assessments to evaluate learner understanding and achievement
- Analyze assessment data for data-driven improvements
- Regularly review and update instructional materials to keep them current and aligned with industry standards
- Gather feedback from team members, educators, and learners for iterative improvements
c. Professional Development
- Stay current with industry trends, instructional design methodologies, and emerging educational technologies
- Pursue opportunities for professional growth to enhance skills and contribute to continuous improvement
Requirements
- 5+ years of related instructional design and development experience
- Participation in special projects related to teaching and learning
- A degree in Instructional Design & Technology, Education, Learning Sciences & Technologies, or equivalent
- Good knowledge of learning management systems and evaluation methodologies
- Strong project management skills across all phases of instructional design
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of agile methodologies and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong vendor management skills with experience working with stakeholders
- Ability to quickly learn new tools and processes with minimal guidance
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Analytical skills with creative thinking and problem-solving abilities
