The Installation Proposal Engineer primarily contributes during the tender stage of Power Cable Systems projects, with limited involvement during project construction.

THE ROLE
During the tender stage, the main activities include:
- Understanding the cable market, including Customers, Competitors, and Subcontractors
- Carefully reviewing tender documentation, especially technical specifications
- Analyzing survey data related to installation provided by the Customer, when available
- Developing technical solutions aligned with the above requirements
- Collaborating with Installation Engineering and other Departments on the chosen solution
- Participating in clarifications meetings with internal teams and the Customer during tender preparation
- Conducting site visits to assess logistics, feasibility, and potential subcontractors for civil works
- Preparing technical specifications (RFQ) for potential subcontractors
- Reviewing proposals from subcontractors with Purchasing, considering technical, economic, and scheduling aspects
- Engaging with Subcontractors to clarify offers and ensure alignment with Prysmian and Customer requirements
- Refining the final solution in cooperation with relevant Departments such as System Design Engineering, Sales, Purchasing, Logistics, Legal, HSE, Quality, and Project Management
- Estimating installation costs and assessing associated risks
- Drafting the Technical Description of the Work and related documentation for the Customer
- Preparing Work Plans for installation activities to assist planners in developing the overall Plan of Work
- Participating in negotiations and clarification meetings with the Customer post-proposal submission
- Revising tender packages as needed based on negotiations or Customer requests
- Ensuring compliance with internal rules and procedures throughout the process
During the contractual stage, the main activities are:
- Participating in internal Kick-Off Meetings
- Sharing relevant information with the project team, including costs, qualifications, assumptions, technical documentation, and Work Plans
- Engaging in internal clarification meetings with relevant departments
- Providing technical support during project execution, especially between Contract Signing and implementation
- Attending meetings with the Customer and Subcontractors as needed during initial project phases
- Assisting in assessing potential changes from the tender stage concerning technical solutions, contractual issues, risks, and costs, and capturing Lessons Learned for future tenders
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
- Engineering degree or relevant technical qualification
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
- Curiosity, eagerness to learn, and proactive involvement to improve autonomy
- Precision, problem-solving skills, and goal orientation
- Ability to understand and simplify complex concepts
- Pragmatism, flexibility, and adaptability to changing priorities
- Good interpersonal skills and team collaboration
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, AutoCAD, and web tools
- Willingness to undertake short, frequent domestic and international trips

- Experience in similar roles or fields
- Knowledge of or experience in submarine cable installation, from operational or engineering perspectives
- Experience in proposal engineering activities such as costing, planning, subcontracting, technical proposal development, and negotiation, especially related to marine installation or similar areas
