Job summary

UWCSEA East is seeking a passionate Part-Time Teacher of Middle School/High School Food Technology for August 2027. The successful candidate will teach both Middle School and High School students in curriculum areas such as Food and Nutrition, within our concept-driven Food Technology courses.

The Food Technology Department is a collaborative team in a well-resourced environment, supported by technicians. A good degree in Food Technology and a recognized teaching qualification are expected;

Qualifications

• A good degree in Food Technology or a closely related discipline.
• A recognized teaching qualification or certification is expected.
• Experience teaching Design and Technology to ages 11–18 is required.

Responsibilities

• Contribute positively to the collaborative culture of the Food Technology department and broader school teams.
• Design learning experiences that challenge and inspire students and support diverse learners.
• Ensure assessments provide timely, relevant feedback on formative and summative tasks.
• Demonstrate effective classroom management and address academic, social, and emotional aspects of learning.
• Keep parents informed about student learning and communicate proactively.
