Job Description:
We are looking for a highly experienced Inspection Coordinator to lead and manage multi-disciplinary inspection activities across major industrial projects. This role is suitable for a seasoned professional with strong leadership capabilities and a solid background in welding, coating, and mechanical inspections. The ideal candidate should be adept at managing inspection teams, ensuring procedural compliance, and interfacing with clients and regulatory authorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage daily inspection activities across welding, coating, NDT, and mechanical scopes
- Ensure timely execution of inspection tasks as per ITPs, project timelines, and client specifications
- Review and approve inspection documents, reports, and test records for completeness and accuracy
- Lead and supervise a team of inspectors, ensuring their competency and adherence to safety and quality standards
- Act as the primary point of contact for client representatives, contractors, and certification bodies
- Coordinate with QA/QC, production, and engineering teams to resolve inspection issues
- Plan and manage resources for shutdowns, turnarounds, and project-based inspections
- Support audit readiness and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Prepare and present reports, KPIs, and inspection status updates to management
Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of relevant inspection experience in structural steel industries
- Proven team leadership or supervisory experience in inspection coordination roles
- Strong knowledge of international codes and standards (AWS, ASME, API, ISO, SSPC/NACE)
- Possess certification(s) in at least one of the following:
- CSWIP 3.2 or AWS SCWI
- API 510/570/653
- NACE/SSPC Coating Inspector (Level 2 or 3)
- BGAS/ICorr
- Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17020 and ISO 9001 management systems
- Excellent communication, organizational, and client interfacing skills
- High level of integrity, accountability, and problem-solving ability
