Job summary

The Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS) at Nanyang Technological University Singapore invites applications for a Research Associate to study earthquake hazards using remote sensing and space geodesy. You will contribute to the InVEST Southeast Asia project and work under Associate Prof Sang-Ho Yun.

Responsibilities include developing InSAR processing, creating rapid disaster maps, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to translate findings into practical tools.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Geophysics or related discipline.
• Demonstrated expertise in remote sensing, image processing, inverse problems, and machine learning.
• Experience analyzing geospatial and geodetic datasets.
• Strong programming skills in Python, MATLAB, C, and Fortran.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Ability to conduct independent research while collaborating with a team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research on fault geometry and rheology to assess future earthquake hazards.
• Rapid generation of disaster maps for earthquakes and volcanic events.
• Engage machine learning techniques to improve InSAR deformation and coherence time series analysis.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to translate research outcomes into operational applications.
• The successful candidate will be encouraged to publish 1 peer-reviewed technical papers per year.
