Job summary

NUSX is hiring Innovation Catalysts for the Pulse track to identify and advance breakthroughs in biotechnology, life sciences and healthcare tech from NUS. You will build partnerships, surface opportunities early, and guide researchers toward real-world impact at a global, venture-building scale.

The role blends science, entrepreneurship, and ecosystems thinking. As part of a globally connected team, you will translate research into translational programs, work with IP strategists and investors,

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant operating experience in a start-up venture, translational research, or corporate tech transfer context.
• A systems mindset — design and drive work based on end-to-end outcomes and real-world impact.
• Curiosity, emotional intelligence, and disciplined follow-through — build trust quickly and deliver reliably.
• Love of bold, early-stage ideas and comfort with experimentation, uncertainty, and failure.
• Deep respect for science with urgency and bias toward action.
• Excellent communication and storytelling — make research legible to the world.
• Technical domain fluency across biotech, life sciences, synthetic biology, healthcare technol./related fields.
• Strong relationship-builder who drives alignment across faculty, operators, clinicians, and partners.
• Comfort operating through influence in complex ecosystems with diverse leadership.

Responsibilities

• Build trusted partnerships with faculty and local innovation teams turning ideas into impact.
• Partner with embedded innovation enablers to align priorities and best practices for translation.
• Scout and surface early-stage innovation across the university.
• Enable momentum by sharing insights, risks and needs for fast progress.
• Craft compelling lay narratives from complex scientific data.
• Maintain an ecosystem-wide view of emerging projects and champion the best ones.
• Connect researchers with market-facing teams and external partners to accelerate progress.
