Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage day-to-day infrastructure operations, ensuring timely and effective response to incidents, events, and changes in compliance with established processes and SLAs.
- Establish and enforce robust governance practices, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and workflows to guide the infrastructure operations team.
- Ensure consistent adherence to existing procedures and maintain comprehensive documentation in accordance with organizational guidelines.
- Proactively explore and evaluate emerging technologies, integrating best practices and new solutions to enhance operational efficiency and overall user experience.
- Identify recurring operational and security issues, ensuring appropriate mitigation strategies and long-term resolutions are implemented.
- Provide regular updates to leadership on operational risks, challenges, key insights, and improvement opportunities.
- Proactively manage and escalate roadblocks that may impact operations, infrastructure stability, or SLA commitments.
- Oversee daily task assignments of the operations team, providing mentorship and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Escalate critical issues to leadership in a timely and structured manner, including risk assessment, root cause analysis, and recommended actions.
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and career development of infrastructure operations personnel.
- Conduct daily huddles focusing on CVE assessments, SLA governance, and resolution of high-priority operational issues.
- Prepare and present operational governance reports for weekly/monthly leadership reviews.
- Maintain key operational logs, including issue logs, risk registers, and improvement/enhancement trackers.
- Ensure timely review, maintenance, and submission of SOPs, inventories, master trackers, SLA reports, and patch calendars.
- Promote a culture of knowledge sharing and cross-skilling through structured training, peer reviews, and doer-checker practices.
- Support internal and external audits by ensuring the availability and accuracy of required documentation and evidence.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in infrastructure operations, with proven experience leading infrastructure delivery or operations teams.
- Broad and up-to-date knowledge of infrastructure technologies, industry trends, and strategic best practices.
- Ability to provide deep technical expertise and guidance across both tactical and strategic initiatives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess risks, identify threats, and formulate mitigation plans.
- Solid understanding of Information Systems Security and governance.
- Hands-on experience in at least a few of the following areas: Windows/Linux operating systems, databases, networking, virtualization, and digital workplace (DWP) environments.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently, and committed to driving efficiency and continuous improvement in operations.
