Job summary

Singapore Airlines Limited is seeking a Cloud/DevOps engineer to join our GCP-focused team in Singapore. You will design and operate scalable, secure GCP infrastructure, automate deployments, and implement IaC using Deployment Manager, Ansible, or Terraform.

The role requires hands-on experience with GCP (3+ years), Python scripting, and familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes. AWS/Azure familiarity is a plus; strong collaboration and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of cloud infrastructure experience with hands-on work on GCP
• GCP Certified Professional Cloud Architect preferred
• Strong scripting skills in Python and IaC tooling

Responsibilities

Job description

The successful candidate will join one of SIA Group's Cloud/DevOps teams, focusing on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with the application stakeholders to deliver GCP infrastructure services that are resilient and secure, adhering to best practices for data management and processing.
• Administer and manage cloud infrastructure deployment on GCP, including provisioning and de-provisioning resources, maintaining security posture, monitoring resource utilization, configuring networks, and managing backup/restore processes.
• Troubleshoot issues effectively, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions during and after incidents to minimize downtime.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation and processes for troubleshooting, system maintenance, and configuration management.
• Develop Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions on GCP using tools such as Google Cloud Deployment Manager, Ansible, or Terraform, automating the deployment and management of cloud resources to ensure consistency and efficiency.
• Provide training and conduct knowledge-sharing sessions for the cloud community within the organization to promote best practices and continuous learning.
• Explore, evaluate, and implement new technologies that can help the company reduce costs or enhance operational efficiencies.
• Be prepared to perform system administration tasks and incident resolution outside of normal business hours as needed.

Note: This position may require posting to any subsidiary within the SIA Group.

Requirements:

• A degree in Information Technology or a related field; GCP Certified Professional Cloud Architect certification is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of Cloud Infrastructure experience, with at least 3 years of hands-on experience working on GCP. Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure is preferred.
• Proficient in Python and Ansible scripting, with a solid understanding of data structures, algorithm design/analysis, and SQL.
• Familiarity with DevOps and infrastructure management tools (e.g., JIRA, DataDog, Splunk, Cloud Conformity).
• Hands-on experience with Docker containerization and Kubernetes orchestration (GKE) is preferred.
• Experience in deploying object storage and data warehousing solutions, particularly with Google Cloud Storage (GCS) and BigQuery is a preferred.
• Experience with API Management (Google Cloud Endpoints, Apigee), Platform as a Service (Cloud Run, App Engine), and DevOps practices is preferred.
• Strong analytical, project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
