Job summary

Singapore Airlines Limited is seeking an Information Technology - Application Developer (AOS) to join the Application Services team within the Airport Operation Systems division. You will contribute to fast-paced agile squads, building and integrating microservices and RESTful APIs, with a strong focus on security, scalability and quality.

The role emphasizes full-stack development in Java, Spring Boot, React, and CI/CD pipelines, with exposure to cloud platforms and AI-assisted development.

Qualifications

• Degree in Information Technology or related field.
• Strong Java experience with RESTful APIs and web services.
• Strong React.js experience for front-end development.
• End-to-end microservices integration with front-end systems.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and source control.
• Familiar with testing practices and secure coding.
• Exposure to relational and non-relational databases.
• Experience with GenAI/AI-assisted development is a plus.

Responsibilities

Information Technology - Application Developer (AOS)

Job Description

The successful candidate will join the Application Services (Airport Operation Systems) department in SIA Information Technology Division. He/She will be assigned to assist various Customer Service agile squads, as required, to accelerate new product and feature development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and maintain full-stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, and React.


• Integrate applications with internal and external systems through APIs and messaging platforms.


• Design and implement database solutions using SQL and NoSQL databases.


• Design and implement Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery pipelines.


• Design and develop new features for both new and existing applications.


• Develop scalable and secure RESTful APIs and microservices..


• Provide technical input to assist product owners to and refine user stories.


• Create and maintain software documentation, including detailed technical design, low level design and test scripts.


• Write automated unit, feature and regression test suites.


• Ensure code upholds the best practices for security, data protection and reliability.


• Troubleshoot application issues and provide production support when required.


• Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing solutions.

Requirements

• Possess a degree in Information Technology or related fields.


• Strong Java experience for server side development, including hands on experience developing and consuming Restful API’s and webservices.


• Strong experience with React.js.


• End to End integration experience of Microservices / webservices with front end systems (websites, mobile etc.).


• Good understanding of agile methodology and design thinking as well as source code control systems and CI/CD pipelines.


• Familiar with programming practices such as Test Driven Development.


• Experience with SQL and relational and non-relational Databases (e.g. Oracle, MySQL, Cassandra).


• Exposure to GenAI/AI-assisted software development and responsible use of developer AI tools.

The following will be highly regarded:

• Experience in designing, developing and deploying microservices - Experience in building highly available, performant and scalable clustered services using Docker, Kubernetes or Open Shift.


• Experience in deploying with cloud based services and deployments, such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.


• Experience with web front end framework such as React, Vue or Angular.


• A proven ability to adapt to new development languages and environments.
