Job Description
  • Manage and oversee indirect tax compliance processes across multiple jurisdictions, including the preparation, review, and timely filing of indirect tax returns.
  • Monitor changes in global indirect tax legislation, assess business impact, and provide expert advice on VAT, GST, and other transaction-based taxes.
  • Develop and implement global indirect tax strategies to optimize tax efficiency, mitigate risks, and drive compliance excellence.
  • Lead strategic initiatives such as cost optimization, automation, and process improvements to enhance tax processes and systems.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (Finance, Legal, Operations) to embed tax considerations into business decisions, system implementations, and cross-border transactions.
  • Provide operational tax guidance to support product launches, market expansion, and go-to-market activities.
  • Lead and support indirect tax audits, ensuring timely responses, documentation readiness, and alignment with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain robust indirect tax reporting and documentation processes to support compliance across jurisdictions.
The Successful Applicant
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant international indirect tax experience, including both in-house and advisory roles (e.g., experience gained from a Big 4 firm or equivalent professional services environment).
  • Experience in e-commerce or digital business models is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex tax matters clearly and effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering results in fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Professional proficiency in English and Mandarin (spoken and written) to effectively liaise with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders and review documentation, as this role supports global operations including reporting to headquarters.
