Position Title: Indirect Supplier Manager
Join Micron’s Global Procurement team to lead category strategy, manage supplier relationships, and drive cost saving initiatives for our technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and validate category strategies for managed categories, ensuring alignment with Global and Regional Category Managers and internal stakeholders.
- Lead and participate in strategic sourcing initiatives, including negotiation of contract extensions, renewals, and new agreements.
- Implement processes to monitor stakeholder satisfaction and recommend targets to maximize value through spend reduction, purchasing efficiency, and supplier management.
- Analyze sourcing trends, conduct market intelligence, and provide category price trends and benchmark data to stakeholders.
- Utilize should-cost models to evaluate savings and revenue levers for assigned categories.
- Lead sourcing events and RFQ processes, incorporating savings targets and contract requirements into negotiations.
- Develop contract strategies, negotiate terms, monitor performance, and enforce contractual obligations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver strategic solutions, maintain expertise in spend categories, and enhance cost effectiveness, supply chain efficiency, and resilience.
- Coordinate procurement activities for construction and capex projects, including sourcing materials, components, equipment, and services.
- Perform should-cost and pricing analysis, volume planning, and alternative sourcing evaluations such as make vs. buy analysis.
- Ensure technical understanding of purchased products and maintain procurement schedules to meet project delivery timelines.
- Recommend cost-saving proposals and vendor evaluation criteria to support business objectives.
Requirements
- 0–5 years of procurement experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in category management and strategic sourcing.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Advanced knowledge of material cost structures and analysis.
- Experience in sourcing for construction and capex projects, including volume planning and price analysis.
- Familiarity with AI tools and AI-enabled workflows (e.g., Cloud Assist).
- Proactive approach to identifying and implementing cost-saving initiatives.
