Job description

The ideal candidate is an experienced health & safety reviewer, with traction & contacts in the education/ schools arena. A consultative approach is key, along with a heightened sensitivity to cultural differences & the ability to communicate equally smoothly on paper & in person.

Duration of commitment: March to May 2026, with an average of 20 on-site (including travel to 10+ regional schools) days (~8 hours/ day)

Fees: (-/+) $800, on a per-day basis

Responsibilities:

  • Support the schools in evaluating & improving on practices, with localization/ context at the forefront
  • Conduct onsite reviews in an open & transparent manner – bearing in mind cultural contexts, with an aim to bring out the best in communications & collaborative strive towards excellence
  • Provide verbal feedback & evidence-based reports at the end of each onsite review
  • Escalate risks & concerns with written accounts including relevant information & evidence
  • Circulate reports directly to key stakeholders & regional team

Requirements:

  • Chartered Membership with IOSH [Institution of Occupational Safety & Health] (or its equivalent)
  • A methodical, transparent approach, with each forward clearly indicated & mapped out – aiming towards zero blind corners & open communications
  • Ability to balance reporting transparently against the published Health & Safety evaluation criteria with the individualized context of the school
  • Ability to put people at ease for an easy flow in conversations & sharing
  • Preparedness to confront status quos & to deliver + push through potentially challenging or divisive messages
  • Experience in the educational sector, along with an understanding of facilities-based compliance in a global setting
