Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of portable in-situ machining.
• Minimum 3 years in flange facing.
• Able to read engineering drawings and P&IDs.
• Willing to travel and work overtime, night shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site flange facing, resurfacing, and machining of pipe flanges using portable flange facing machines.
• Set up and operate portable machining equipment safely and efficiently.
• Machine RF, RTJ, T&G, and other flange profiles to the required surface finish.
• Carry out machining in accordance with ASME B16.5, ASME PCC-1, and client specifications.
• Verify flange dimensions, flatness, groove dimensions, and surface finish using measuring instruments.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, machining procedures, and technical specifications.
• Perform equipment inspection, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare work reports, machining records, and inspection documentation.
• Conduct pre-job site inspections and risk assessments.
• Comply with all company HSE procedures, permit-to-work systems, and client safety requirements.
• Maintain good housekeeping of work areas and equipment.
• Provide guidance and on-the-job training to junior machinists and assistants.
• Liaise professionally with clients, supervisors, and other contractors on-site.
• Support other services when required.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced In-Situ Flange Facing Machinist to perform on-site machining services at refineries, petrochemical plants, power stations, offshore platforms, shipyards, and industrial facilities. The successful candidate shall be capable of independently setting up, operating, and maintaining portable flange facing equipment while ensuring all machining work complies with client specifications, ASME standards, and company quality and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform on-site flange facing, resurfacing, and machining of pipe flanges using portable flange facing machines.

• Set up and operate portable machining equipment safely and efficiently.

• Machine Raised Face (RF), Ring Type Joint (RTJ), Tongue & Groove (T&G), and other flange profiles to the required surface finish.

• Carry out machining in accordance with ASME B16.5, ASME PCC-1, and client specifications.

• Verify flange dimensions, flatness, groove dimensions, and surface finish using measuring instruments.

Job Requirements

• Essential

• Minimum 5 years of experience in portable in-situ machining.

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience specifically in flange facing.

• Able to operate portable flange facing machines independently.

• Experience machining:

  • Raised Face (RF)

  • RTJ Grooves

  • Tongue & Groove

  • Lens Ring

  • Compact Flanges

• Strong understanding of flange standards and tolerances.

• Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as:

  • Vernier Caliper

  • Dial Indicator

  • Surface Finish Comparator

  • Depth Gauge

• Able to read engineering drawings and P&IDs.

• Able to perform manual tasks to work in confined spaces, at height, and in industrial environments.

• Willing to travel and work overtime, night shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Preferred Experience

• Experience operating portable machining equipment from manufacturers such as:

  • Climax

  • Mirage

  • DWT

• Experience operating:

  • OD Mounted Flange Facers

  • ID Mounted Flange Facers

  • Split Frame Cold Cutting Machines

  • Portable Milling Machines

  • Line Boring Equipment

  • Portable Drilling and Tapping Machines

Working Conditions

• Based in Singapore with frequent travel to customer sites.

• Work in refineries, petrochemical plants, offshore platforms, marine yards, and power plants.

• May require extended hours during shutdowns and emergency call-outs.

• Must be willing to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying weather conditions.
