The IT Operator will be responsible for the day-to-day management and maintenance of our data center facilities. This role involves operating computer systems, handling end-of-day batch processing, and performing essential housekeeping tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a 24x7 shift environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shift Operations: Rotate through 24x7 shifts, working in either a 3-shift or 2-shift pattern, to ensure continuous coverage and operational stability of the IT Operations.
- Housekeeping Tasks: Carry out necessary housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and organized data center environment, including managing inventory and equipment cleanliness.
- System Operation: Operate computer systems and ensure they are functioning correctly, including monitoring system performance and addressing any issues that arise.
- Batch Processing: Handle end-of-day batch processing tasks, ensuring all processes are completed accurately and on time.
- Output Management: Sort printed output and prepare it for distribution to various branches and offices, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of critical documents.
- Security Backups: Make regular security backups of the system to ensure data integrity and availability in the event of system failures or data loss.
- Incident Escalation: Be part of the escalation team, create incident tickets and escalate any incidents or issues to the appropriate parties as necessary, following established protocols.
- Additional Duties: Perform any other work assigned by the manager, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the data center operations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Diploma and above.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a data center or IT operations role, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with data center infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, and network devices. Familiarity with data center management tools and monitoring software.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in monitoring, documenting, and managing data center operations.
- Communication: Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders.
Work Environment:
- Schedule: This role requires rotating 24x7 shifts in either a 3-shift or 2-shift pattern, including evenings, weekends, and on-call availability.
