Job Title: Hydraulics Engineer – Offshore Heavy Machinery (Winches & Marine Cranes)
Job Description:

We are looking for a dynamic and technically proficient Hydraulics Engineer to join our offshore engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, analysis, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hydraulic systems on heavy offshore equipment such as winches, marine cranes, and lifting systems . This role requires strong engineering fundamentals, offshore experience, and the ability to work independently or lead cross-functional teams on-site.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop hydraulic systems for offshore equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
  • Perform hydraulic calculations (pressure, flow, line sizing, etc.) and component selection (pumps, valves, cylinders, filters).
  • Develop and review hydraulic schematics , system layouts, and engineering drawings .
  • Lead or support system integration , commissioning , and functional testing of hydraulic systems onboard offshore vessels or platforms.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and fault diagnosis on hydraulic equipment both remotely and on-site.
  • Provide technical support to fabrication, assembly, and installation teams.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and control engineers to ensure system compatibility and integration.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation , including test procedures, reports, system manuals, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure all hydraulic systems meet offshore safety regulations , class requirements (e.g., DNV, ABS), and quality standards .
  • Participate in FAT/SAT, inspections, and client meetings when required.
  • Support maintenance planning and lifecycle analysis for hydraulic assets.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering , Hydraulic Engineering , or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in hydraulic systems, preferably in offshore or marine industries.
  • Solid understanding of fluid power principles , marine standards, and offshore environmental considerations.
  • Proficiency in hydraulic circuit design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, EPLAN, or equivalent).
  • Familiar with class society standards (e.g., DNV, ABS) and offshore codes.
  • Willingness to travel offshore for commissioning, troubleshooting, and inspections.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience with winches, marine cranes, A-frames, or subsea lifting systems is a strong advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure in a dynamic offshore environment.
