Job description

Job Responsibilities
  • Design and manufacture Deck Machinery, including winches, windlasses, capstans, shark jaws, towing pins, etc., involving hydraulic systems and control, hydraulic power pack design, P&ID, and pipe routing.
  • Perform calculations for flow rates, pressures, power requirements, and heat dissipation to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Select appropriate hydraulic components from various manufacturers based on technical specifications, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
  • Generate detailed hydraulic schematics, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), and assembly drawings.
  • Review client RFQ, assist sales team in preparing technical specifications.
  • Prepare preliminary drawings and submit for customer approval.
  • Submit calculations and drawings for classification approval, monitor submission status, and address class comments.
  • Prepare and issue production drawings and BOM lists.
  • Prepare and issue testing reports for deck machinery.
  • Conduct FAT with surveyor in-house.
  • Prepare installation and operation manuals.
  • Prepare Declaration of Asbestos-free and hazardous materials (ISO14000).
  • Provide technical support during commissioning.
  • Coordinate engineering tasks with project management, sourcing, liaising with class, vendors, and clients, FAT, and logistics.
  • Perform any other assigned duties.
Key Skills
  • Analyze and interpret design schematics, including hydraulic diagrams and circuits.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D & 3D or SolidWorks for detailed engineering drawings.
  • Independently handle design tasks and liaise with sales/customers on technical specifications and requirements.
  • Demonstrate good teamwork and communication skills.
  • Possess a proactive personality and willingness to take on challenges.
  • Experience in hydraulic engineering calculations and component selection.
  • Familiarity with CCS/ABS/BV/DNV class codes and standards.
  • Knowledge of PC and MS Office applications.
