Job description

Design Engineer - Deck Machinery (Hydraulic Systems)

We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer to join our team, focusing on the design and manufacturing of deck machinery such as winches, windlasses, capstans, shark jaws, and towing pins. The role involves hydraulic system design, including hydraulic power pack design, P&ID creation, and pipe routing.

Responsibilities:

  1. Design and develop hydraulic systems for deck machinery, including component selection and system calculations.
  2. Perform calculations for flow rates, pressures, power requirements, and heat dissipation to optimize system performance.
  3. Generate detailed hydraulic schematics, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), and assembly drawings.
  4. Review RFQs, assist sales in preparing technical specifications, and develop preliminary drawings for customer approval.
  5. Coordinate with classification societies for approval submissions, monitor status, and address comments.
  6. Prepare production drawings, BOM lists, and testing reports for deck machinery.
  7. Participate in FAT with surveyors and support installation and commissioning activities.
  8. Prepare manuals and declarations regarding asbestos-free and hazardous materials (ISO14000).
  9. Provide technical support during commissioning and coordinate project activities across engineering, sourcing, and client communication.
  10. Handle additional tasks as assigned.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D/3D or SolidWorks for engineering drawings.
