Job summary

National Library Board (NLB) in Singapore invites a data engineer to join our data platform team. You will design scalable data architectures, manage databases and a Data Lake, and collaborate with vendors and stakeholders to ensure data quality and security.

Responsibilities include data integration, transformation, and migration to a new Data Management Platform, with a focus on governance and reliability. The role requires 2–5 years of hands-on experience and strong SQL/Python skills.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of relevant technical working experience with data management, RDBMS and ETL.
• Experience in data migration projects including migration strategy design and post-migration validation.
• Experience in AWS Platform Architecture (S3, Data Lakehouse, Glue, Athena, etc.).
• Proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Knowledge of data management tools such as Databricks, Snowflake is an advantage.
• Experience with Apache Airflow for orchestrating data workflows.

Responsibilities

• Data Architecture Design in collaboration with solution architects and stakeholders.
• Data Management: set up and manage Databases and Data Lake, ensure data integrity and security.
• Data Integration: unify data from multiple sources for analysis and reporting.
• Data Transformation: perform masking, aggregations, joins and filtering as required.
• Data Migration: plan, test and deploy migration to new platform.
• Data Quality and Governance: implement data quality checks and establish governance standards.
• Monitoring: monitor data pipelines and troubleshoot issues to ensure reliability.
• Documentation: document data engineering processes, configurations and best practices.
