Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Singapore is seeking an experienced technician for RHVAC systems installation and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate has a certification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning and a passion for coaching. Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in marine RHVAC systems.
  • Knowledge of refrigeration cycle theory and HVAC controls.
  • Ability to work in challenging conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Install, test, and troubleshoot air-conditioning systems.
  • Update daily progress reports on job status.
  • Co-ordinate team activities to ensure task completion.

Job Description
  • Carry out installation, testing, overhauling compressors and troubleshooting / servicing of air-conditioning and refrigeration units and other duties assigned by your superiors
  • Carry out your work assignments either independently or with a group of workmen locally and/or overseas
  • Update daily Progress Tracking Report to update the company on the job completion status
  • Co-ordinate the work activities of the team to ensure completion of tasks within given timeline
  • Completion of various daily job and closure reports
  • Prepare survey/inspection reports
  • Estimate labour and materials for a given RHVAC
  • Communicate proactively with client/crew on technical issues, solutions and recommendations
  • Coach junior team members to enhance their skills level
  • Comply to Safety, Health and Environmental standards at all times
  • Comply with all safety rules and regulations at all times
  • Any other duties assigned by the HOD or Management as and when necessary
Requirements
  • Candidate must possess certification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning studies or Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 2 years’ working experience in marine RHVAC systems
  • Has in-depth knowledge of refrigeration cycle theory, line components, circuit flushing, refrigerant recovery, pressure testing and vacuuming
  • Has in-depth knowledge of electrical circuit diagram and HVAC Controls (Electrical and PLC)
  • Good written and verbal communication and coaching skills
  • Good analytical skills
  • Able to work long hours under hot and humid conditions due to exigency of work on board vessels and in shipyards
  • Team player with positive attitude and willing to learn and teach
  • Able to work independently
  • Proficient in RHVAC troubleshooting
  • Good knowledge in compressor overhauling
