A leading chemical company in Singapore is seeking a Human Resource Business Partner to assist in a full range of HR activities. The successful candidate will partner with business leaders to provide effective HR solutions and contribute to organizational performance. Responsibilities include talent management, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness. Candidates should have a degree in Human Resources and at least 5 years of regional HR experience.
General Summary
The Human Resource Business Partner role will assist the HR Manager in full range of HR activities and contribute actively in all HR projects for Asia-Pacific. The role shall contribute to company performance by providing tactical and strategic consulting on people and organization development strategies in support of the business objectives. Besides, this position will partner with business leaders to understand their HR needs and provide effective HR solutions and interventions. Further, this person will also be involved in global HR activities, opportunity to develop their HR knowledge & experiences and have the opportunity to have an impact on the organization & associate experience.
Primary Responsibilities
Business Partnering – Serves as HR Business Partner for the Plant. Working closely with Operation teams to deliver customized, forward-looking solutions, programs and policies addressing on-demand and future requirement of the teams.
Talent Resourcing & Management - Develop strategies to attract, drive and retain potential in the organization. Manage the full spectrum of recruitment activities and support talent review strategies and processes.
Fully managing the career development activities, career framework of organization, sustaining organization capability and organization development. Work with business leaders on curating functional competencies and capabilities development.
Employee Engagement & Cultural Development – Drives employee engagement by analyzing trends and proposing engagement strategies, partner with leaders to deliver effective communication.
Actively involved in Change Management to drive organizational alignment and effective manpower utilization. Promote a high-performance culture and create a positive, forward looking work environment.
Organizational Effectiveness – Assist the HR Leader in managing and overseeing the full scope of HR functions such as performance management, compensation & benefit administration, learning & development, HR processes, talent acquisition, succession planning, disciplinary process and etc.
Employee Relations – To be a trusted advisor and confidant for associates to solve problems, provide advice and be an advocate on behalf of associates. Manage and resolve employee relations issues.
Manage day-to-day HR operations – Ensure business compliance with HR policies and programs. Provide useful insights on HR data and analytics to facilitate business decisions and corrective actions. Maintain a high standard of quality and operational excellence in HR Processes.
Performing other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
Degree/Diploma in Human Resources or its equivalent
Minimum 5+ years of progressive regional HR experience
Possess relevant HR experiences in a chemical industry is a plus
Experience developing internal processes would be helpful
Possess a flexible and responsive approach in supporting the business
A well-organized self-starter and the ability working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Strong interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication
Be comfortable working with all levels in the organization and with different cultures within the region
Knowledge of local employment regulations in Asia Pacific would be advantageous
Work Hours
Michelman’s standard work hours for this role is from 8am – 5pm EST.
