Job description

Marine:

  • Support coordination, scheduling, and timely follow-up of Oil Major Vetting Inspections as assigned.
  • Conduct Marine Inspections, pre-vetting inspections, or vetting assistance during vessel visits. Ensure all identified deficiencies are documented and stored in the common drive.
  • Perform annual onboard navigation audits, preferably during short voyages, and input findings into the navigation audits database. Follow up on all deficiencies and defects until resolved.
  • Assist in accident investigations and root cause analyses.
  • Serve as a member of the Emergency Response Team.
  • Coordinate external safety audits and onboard training by liaising with appointed audit or training providers.
  • Oversee cosmetic maintenance projects, including vessel painting.
  • Monitor and provide operational support to vessels in coordination with the Operations team, covering loading, discharging, tank cleaning, and grade changes.

Quality and Compliance:

  • Support the implementation of HSSEQ policies, including onboard visits for system application on new vessels.
  • Assist in periodic management reviews of the HSSEQ system, document findings, and propose corrective actions if needed.
  • Maintain and update the HSSEQ Management System.
  • Act as a member of the internal Marine & HSSEQ audit team.
  • Help develop and coordinate annual ISM & ISPS audit plans, participate in audits, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Assist in investigating and analyzing accidents, marine incidents, and near misses.
  • Contribute to the preparation, execution, and upkeep of contingency plans for both office and vessel operations.
  • Liaise with vessels on safety, navigation, operations, health, quality, security, and environmental issues, including responding to Vessel Monthly Safety Reports and Near Miss Reports.
  • Review and assess safety-related reports from vessels and other relevant sources.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of seafaring experience.
  • At least 3 years sailing as Chief Officer on Chemical Tankers, with preference for experience on parcel tankers.
  • Relevant maritime certifications, such as a Chief Officer’s certificate or Master’s license (advantageous).
  • Experience in ship vetting by major oil companies and ship/terminal operations.
  • Proficiency in cargo handling, tank cleaning, and managing IMO class 2 & 3 cargoes.
  • Strong knowledge of maritime regulations.
  • High sense of responsibility, initiative, and willingness to travel.
