A leading company is seeking a Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) to oversee Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance across all entities. The role involves leading HSE programs, managing audits, and coordinating emergency response systems. Working days: Monday - Friday
Working hours: 8:30am - 6:00pm
Salary: Basic up to $6,500 + Variable Bonus
Job Scope:
Appointed as the Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) for the organizaition, overseeing Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) compliance across all entities
Led the assessment, implementation, and ongoing management of HSE programs and initiatives
Served as the Safety Case Lead for sites, responsible for securing and maintaining Major Hazard Installation (MHI) certifications and audit compliance
Ensured standardization and execution of HSE procedures across all company facilities through leadership, training, and operational support
Participated in incident investigations, verified root causes, and reviewed implementation of corrective and preventive measures
Oversaw emergency response systems including CERT audits, fire drills, staff training, and the continuous update of emergency plans and policies
Developed and maintained EHS programs covering hazard identification and control, accident prevention, emergency readiness, fire/lift safety, and environmental compliance through routine site inspections
Advised operations teams on work plans, risk assessments, and safe work procedures to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements (e.g., WSH Act, Fire Safety Act, SCDF regulations)
Supported external audits and certification renewals, and liaised with authorities on all safety-related matters
Managed ISO audit and renewal processes for ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards
Acted as the key contact for licenses related to diesel and chemical storage, including oversight of Qualitative Risk Assessments (QRA) and Petroleum & Flammable Materials (P&FM) licensing
