Job summary

Cummins Inc. in Singapore invites a hands-on HSE Intern to support safety initiatives on-site for a 6-month or longer period. You will gain exposure to HSE policies, assist with process improvements, and participate in training delivery under supervision.

You will work with operations managers, safety committees, and regulatory programs to develop practical improvements and data-driven insights for a safer, more efficient workplace during the internship.

Qualifications

  • Education: Diploma and/or Nitec in Environmental/Engineering/Health & Safety, or related field.
  • Warehousing knowledge is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; data analysis capability is desirable.
  • Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Work with operations managers and team leaders on HSE process improvements.
  • Collaborate with on-site environmental committee to improve disposal and 3Rs.
  • Review HSE metrics and identify areas for improvement.
  • Assist in delivering HSE training and develop training needs enhancements.
  • Support the site HSE manager for regulatory programs (WSH committee, inspections).

Job description

We are looking for a talented HSE Intern to join our team in Pandan Ave, Singapore. This is an Onsite role. Internship period will be 6 months or longer, depend on Singapore colleges/universities session.

The internship with the Cummins HSE department will provide the intern exposure to real business with regards our HSE policies and processes in keeping the working environment safe and efficient. The intern is be given hands-on opportunity to understand and develop improvement plans and expected to identify and provide analysis and suggestions to the current process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with the relevant operations' functional managers and team leaders on process and systems improvements catering to HSE (PIV, ergonomics, contractor management) programs.
  • Work with the environmental committee on site for various improvements regarding disposal methodology and methods of improving 3Rs (Reduce reuse, recycle).
  • Review current process of HSE key metrices compilation for area of improvements.
  • Be trained and competent to delivery HSE training. (Review HSE training needs improvements and competencies).
  • Assist the site HSE manager on execution of regulatory required programs for site (WSH committee, inspections, TMP processes)

Preferred Qualification
  • Education: Diploma and or Nitec in Environmental/ Engineering / Health & Safety, similar diploma in related field.
  • Experience: Knowledge of warehousing is an advantage.
  • Technical skills: competent in using Microsoft office, able to perform data analysis. Understand Risk assessment methodology is a plus.
  • Soft skills: Analytical, problem solving, transversal collaboration and communication skills.
