Job description

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on HR Manager to oversee the Human Resources function for our growing Retail and Food & Beverage (F&B) operations. This role is responsible for leading all HR activities, managing payroll, and ensuring that HR policies and practices support a positive work environment and align with business objectives. The ideal candidate is familiar with the fast-paced nature of retail and F&B industries and can manage HR operations across multiple outlets and teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the full spectrum of HR operations across Retail and F&B outlets.

  • Oversee and process payroll to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with statutory requirements (e.g., CPF, IRAS, MOM regulations).

  • Develop, review, and implement HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks in line with company values and legal standards.

  • Manage recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes for both frontline (retail & service staff) and back-office roles.

  • Overseeing company performance appraisal process by effectively managing the performance of employees and ensuring the development and retention of top talent.

  • Support outlet managers with manpower planning, workforce scheduling, and staffing needs.

  • Handle employee relations, disciplinary matters, grievance resolution, and performance management issues.

  • Drive employee engagement initiatives, welfare programs, and retention strategies to foster a positive workplace culture.

  • Oversee training and development programs to ensure staff competency and service standards are maintained.

  • Maintain accurate HR records, employee databases, and ensure proper documentation for audits or regulatory reviews.

  • Advise management on employment law updates, HR compliance, and workforce trends relevant to the retail and F&B sector.

  • Lead HR projects and initiatives to support business growth, productivity, and operational efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of HR Manager experience, preferably with exposure to Retail, F&B, or service-oriented industries.

  • Strong knowledge of Singapore employment legislation, CPF, IRAS submissions, and other regulatory requirements.

  • Proven experience managing payroll processes and HR administrative functions.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-outlet environment with varying shift schedules.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage staff at all levels.

  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Proficient in HRIS systems, payroll software, and Microsoft Office.

  • Able to start immediate or short notice is a plus.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Prior experience working with retail shop staff and F&B service teams.

  • Certification in HR or Payroll Management (e.g., SHRM, CHRM, or equivalent) is an advantage.

  • Ability to work independently and contribute to strategic HR planning.
