As the Deputy Department Manager – Human Resource, you will support the HR Department Manager in overseeing and implementing human resource operations across the organization. You will play a key role in recruitment, employee relations, HR policy implementation, and training initiatives to ensure a productive, engaged, and compliant workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing full spectrum of HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, training & development, and employee engagement.
- Support department heads with manpower planning and hiring needs, ensuring timely and quality placements.
- Facilitate new hire orientations and ensure smooth onboarding processes.
- Handle employee relations matters professionally and confidentially, including counseling, conflict resolution, and grievance handling.
- Monitor and implement HR policies and ensure alignment with MOM regulations and internal standards.
- Support annual performance appraisal exercises, including collation and analysis of evaluation data.
- Coordinate and implement staff training and development programs.
- Assist in HR administrative functions such as maintaining employee records, HRIS updates, and payroll support when necessary.
- Participate in company-wide HR projects or events such as staff welfare activities, town halls, and festive engagements.
- Act as deputy to the HR Manager, standing in during absences and supporting leadership duties.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or equivalent.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in retail or customer-facing sectors.
- Good knowledge of Singapore employment laws and HR best practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Meticulous, organized, and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- A team player with the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters professionally.
