Job description

As the Deputy Department Manager – Human Resource, you will support the HR Department Manager in overseeing and implementing human resource operations across the organization. You will play a key role in recruitment, employee relations, HR policy implementation, and training initiatives to ensure a productive, engaged, and compliant workforce.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in managing full spectrum of HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, training & development, and employee engagement.
  • Support department heads with manpower planning and hiring needs, ensuring timely and quality placements.
  • Facilitate new hire orientations and ensure smooth onboarding processes.
  • Handle employee relations matters professionally and confidentially, including counseling, conflict resolution, and grievance handling.
  • Monitor and implement HR policies and ensure alignment with MOM regulations and internal standards.
  • Support annual performance appraisal exercises, including collation and analysis of evaluation data.
  • Coordinate and implement staff training and development programs.
  • Assist in HR administrative functions such as maintaining employee records, HRIS updates, and payroll support when necessary.
  • Participate in company-wide HR projects or events such as staff welfare activities, town halls, and festive engagements.
  • Act as deputy to the HR Manager, standing in during absences and supporting leadership duties.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in retail or customer-facing sectors.
  • Good knowledge of Singapore employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
