The Role:

As a HRBP at WorldQuant, your main responsibility is to advise, guide, and support the East Asia Regions specifically China, Taiwan and South Korea countries. You will partner with our leaders to understand their strategic objectives and create and implement practical people strategies to achieve them. This incumbent reports to the HR Director, Asia, in implementing and assessing the deployment of the HR strategy to support the achievement of the regional business plan.

Key Responsibilities Include:
HR Business Partner:
  1. Act as a business partner to drive business results that optimize talent, structure, processes, and culture by asking appropriate questions and providing solutions.
  2. Ensure all local regulations are met, and update and review our local handbook.
  3. Reports to the HR Director Asia and collaborates with the global HRBP team to further cultivate and develop an outstanding Employee Experience.
  4. Participate in HR projects supported by the team as needed. Build and cultivate a network of partners to support the realization of China, Taiwan and South Korea’s HR initiatives.
  5. Assess employee engagement and work closely with managers and employees to improve work relationships, enhance efficiency, and retention.
  6. Collaborate with managers to resolve employee relations issues involving poor performance and policy violations, and handle disciplinary processes including terminations.
HR Support Services:
  1. Lead HR administrative support services for recruitment, onboarding, wellbeing, recognition, retention, and offboarding.
  2. Be the subject matter expert responsible for the management of HR processes, analytics, reporting, and system support.
  3. Use critical thinking skills to assess and report on data regarding employment relations.
  4. Lead the HR administrative lifecycle of our employees by coordinating and maintaining employee files and required documentation.
  5. Maintain and update HR documents on the Workday system to ensure data integrity.
What You’ll Bring:
  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with a solid academic record.
  2. Minimum of 8 years of professional work experience with demonstrated ability as a HRBP or in a generalist role with employee-facing responsibilities, preferably within financial services
  3. Ability to adjust between strategy and tactical execution and comfortably navigate ambiguous or "gray" areas.
  4. Commercial approach with a curiosity about the business, the environment, and its people.
  5. Outstanding communication and social skills, with the poise and confidence to interact with and influence clients at all levels.
  6. Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, multifaceted, constantly evolving environment.
  7. Travel readiness as required by business demands is essential for this role
  8. Demonstrate judgment and integrity in critical situations.
  9. Proficient in Mandarin and English, both orally and in writing.
  10. Knowledge of Chinese labor law; experience in a regional role supporting other countries is a plus.
