Overview
This role is required to cover all sections of Housekeeping Department such as rooms, public area and laundry.
Responsibilities
- Ensures highest standard of cleanliness, order and appearance of the Hotel according to the standards and procedures set by the Hotel Management.
- Responsible to supervise, train and inspect the work of Housekeeping Attendants to ensure that all tasks are completed in accordance to Hotel’s standards.
- Prepares and distributes assignment sheets to staff and reviews priorities.
- Monitors staff attendance records and documents any lateness or absenteeism.
- Check Housekeeping Attendants’ cart for proper supplies, neatness, cleanliness and addresses any technical problem.
- Assigns designated keys and beepers to staff and maintains accurate records.
- Monitors forecasted occupancy and ensures adequate manpower for cleaning of check out rooms.
- Assists in guests’ requests for housekeeping items or additional supplies in a timely manner and follow up with delivery and return of items.
- Reviews status of housekeeping tasks with Manager and follows up with outstanding issues before closing shift.
- Inspects public areas/bathrooms, restaurants, gym, pool area, and service areas after being cleaned by housekeeping attendants to ensure cleanliness level is met.
- Assists housekeeping attendants with their job functions where needed to ensure optimum cleanliness and service standards for guests.
- Conducts training of staff.
- Reports staff disciplinary problems to superior and participates in the counseling of staff.
- Handles staff grievances, disciplinary issues and provides counseling accordingly.
- Responsible to check supplies in storage areas and completes requisition for additional supplies needed.
- Responsible to carry out any other duties and responsibilities as and when assigned by the Management of the Hotel and department.
Requirements
- Secondary education or equivalent
- Minimum 2-year experience in a similar job role preferably in a hotel
- Possesses working knowledge of applicable sanitation standards preferred
- Strong team player
- Able to work shifts, weekends and during Public Holiday.
