Position summary:
A candidate in this position will ensure that the overall cleanliness of the hotel and surroundings is maintained at the highest standards in the most cost-effective and productive manner. Proper monitoring of guest supplies and cleaning supplies will lead the team to create a memorable experience for the guest. Assist the Executive Housekeeper as needed.
Provide administrative functions in the areas of recruitment, training and development, people and performance management, and social welfare.
Key Responsibilities:
Learning and Development:
- Educate Housekeeping associates in their respective roles and their continual development in their career paths.
- Train and develop Team Leaders/Supervisors to enhance their competence and prepare them for career progression.
- Schedule and conduct daily communication meetings with associates to facilitate open expression of ideas, concerns, or issues related to the Hotel/Resort.
- Share Trustyou scores, NPS, TripAdvisor comments with associates and take immediate corrective actions.
- Promote and educate the “Ten Foot Rule”.
Projects:
- Monitor and ensure a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for the entire hotel.
- Oversee maintenance and upkeep of all equipment used in the Housekeeping Department, ensuring completion of all related work orders.
- Conduct yearly inventories of all housekeeping equipment.
- Oversee external contractors to ensure compliance with local policies.
- Supervise maintenance of plants, gardening, landscaping, and floral arrangements.
- Implement and maintain environmentally friendly practices within the Housekeeping department. Foster a positive and communicative working environment.
Service Standardization:
- Maintain high guest service standards and ensure prompt, professional responses to guest requests.
- Supervise the Rooms Operation Management System, including Guest Rooms & Corridors, Public Areas, F&B Outlets, Meeting Rooms, Exterior & Landscaping, and laundry.
- Support and assign associates to meet guest service demands.
- Ensure all uniforms are maintained, cleaned, and associates are well-presented.
- Regularly inspect work areas, VIP rooms, and conduct weekly room inspections to uphold service standards.
- Implement and enhance corporate branding and standards, aiming for higher guest satisfaction.
- Establish good hygiene practices based on fundamental cleaning principles to achieve zero defects.
Requirements:
- Proven supervisory experience in housekeeping, preferably in a 5-star hotel.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, procedures, and products.
- Diploma in Hotel Management or a related field is preferred.
