Job summary

JEN Singapore Tanglin by Shangri-la is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to lead the daily operations of the maintenance department, ensuring facilities, equipment and systems run efficiently to deliver guest comfort.

You will develop preventive maintenance schedules, supervise and train staff, manage budgets and coordinate with other departments to address issues affecting guest satisfaction. You will oversee renovations, contractors, records, and emergency preparedness.

Qualifications

• Experience in facilities maintenance and hotel operations.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and building codes.
• Proven ability to develop and implement preventive maintenance plans.
• Strong communication with departments and staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of the maintenance department and ensure facilities, equipment, and systems function efficiently.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
• Supervise and train maintenance staff, promoting safety, accountability, and service excellence.
• Monitor and control maintenance budgets; procure parts, tools, and services.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, local safety standards, and company policies.
• Coordinate with other departments to address maintenance issues impacting guest satisfaction.
• Plan and oversee renovations or upgrades to hotel infrastructure.
• Oversee contractors and vendors for quality service and timely project completion.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance for audits and reporting.
• Maintain backup systems and emergency protocols (generators, contingency plans).
• Support sustainability initiatives by implementing energy- and water-saving practices.
