Job summary

InterContinental Singapore Robertson Quay is seeking a dedicated Duty Engineer to support the Chief Engineer and ensure that hotel equipment operates to IHG standards for maximum efficiency and guest satisfaction.

The role covers engineering and maintenance across the hotel, property, restaurant, and grounds, including responding to concerns, performing preventive tasks, and ensuring safety compliance. Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry is required.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering with two years of experience in general building maintenance and/or construction or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Specialised expertise in plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry fields.
• Hotel or hospitality experience is a plus.
• Professional certification and licence if required by law.
• Ability to understand HVAC, electrical, plumbing and carpentry concepts.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for engineering and maintenance operations of the hotel, property, restaurant and grounds.
• Responds to engineering and maintenance concerns.
• Performs and monitors maintenance and preventative maintenance projects.
• Responds to all building safety concerns.
• Maintains departmental compliance with hotel maintenance procedures.
• Supports maintenance programs and executes daily, weekly and monthly checklists.
• Assists in supervising maintenance staff.
