Job summary

A community-focused therapeutic organization in Singapore is seeking Horse Handlers and Therapy Assistants to join their equine therapy program. You'll be responsible for safely handling horses and supporting special needs clients during therapy sessions. Ideal candidates should have a genuine love for horses, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in outdoor conditions. Training in equine-assisted therapy will be provided. Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with horses is highly desirable.
  • Ability to perform tasks that involve lifting, bending, and walking for extended periods.
  • First aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain certification is preferred.

Job description

Are you passionate about horses and have a heart for making a difference in the lives of special needs individuals? Healing Horses Team is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our equine therapy program as Horse Handlers and Therapy Assistants. In this role, you will play an integral part in providing therapeutic support to our special needs clients, including children and elderly individuals, through interactions with our amazing horses.

Responsibilities:

Safely handle and care for horses, ensuring their well-being and maintaining a clean and organized environment.

Assist in preparing horses for therapy sessions, including grooming, tacking, and leading.

Work collaboratively with our therapy team to facilitate equine-assisted therapy sessions for clients.

Support clients during therapy sessions, providing guidance, encouragement, and ensuring their safety.

Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and their families, fostering a positive and supportive environment.

Requirements:

Previous experience working with horses is highly desirable.

Knowledge of equine care, handling, and grooming techniques.

Ability to work effectively in a team setting and under outdoor conditions, including hot weather.

Comfortable working with special needs individuals, including children and elderly clients.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Reliable, responsible, and able to follow instructions accurately.

Physical fitness and ability to perform tasks that involve lifting, bending, and walking for extended periods.

Additional Information:

This position may require occasional weekend or evening availability, depending on client needs and scheduling.

Training in equine-assisted therapy techniques will be provided.

First aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain certification is preferred.
