Job description

    The Home Retention Outreach Specialist II plays a crucial role in helping borrowers address financial challenges that impact their ability to maintain home ownership. As a Home Retention Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to assist borrowers in finding solutions to retain their homes or explore other options in cases where home retention is not feasible. You will engage with borrowers, understand their situations, and provide guidance on available options to resolve mortgage delinquency and default effectively.Your duties and responsibilities will include answering inbound phone inquiries from borrowers regarding loss mitigation, modifications, short sales, and foreclosure processes. You will conduct interviews with borrowers to assess their specific circumstances, request necessary documentation for workout review, and access information in various systems to inform borrowers about loan workout terms, important deadlines, and follow-up requirements. Additionally, you will communicate changes in dates, timelines, and decisions to borrowers, provide information on escalation procedures as per CFPB guidelines, and handle customer inquiries via phone calls and written correspondence efficiently.To excel in this role, you should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work well under pressure, and respond to inquiries with tact and patience. Familiarity with mortgage industry terminology, practices, and procedures is essential, along with proficiency in MS Windows, MS Outlook, and MS Office Suite. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous but not mandatory. A background in mortgage default servicing, loss mitigation, or workout experience is preferred, along with knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, GNMA, FHA/VA workout requirements, and regulatory guidelines such as FDCPA and CFPB Servicing Guidelines.The ideal candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent, with a bachelor's degree being a plus. You must be able to work a schedule that includes some Saturdays and pass a background investigation. Strong analytical skills, organizational abilities, and the capacity to collaborate effectively with others are key attributes for success in this role.
