Job summary

Beng Hock Mechanical Engineering Pte. Ltd. in Singapore is seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our team in the Kranji North Region. This full-time position focuses on repair and maintenance of trucks, buses, and related equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation.

You will diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, perform scheduled service, and document repairs. A minimum of 5 years in heavy vehicles and a valid Class 3 license are required, with Class 4 as a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in heavy vehicle mechanics.
• Strong knowledge of heavy vehicle systems, engines, and gearboxes.
• Must have a valid Singapore Class 3 manual driving license (Class 4 a plus).
• Experience with Euro 3–5 engines preferred (Euro 6 a plus).
• Proficient with diagnostic tools and manual inspection techniques.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong attention to detail.

Job description

Beng Hock Mechanical Engineering Pte. Ltd. is seeking a talented and experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our team in the Kranji North Region. This full-time role is responsible for the repair and maintenance of a wide range of heavy vehicles, ensuring their safe and efficient operation.

What you'll be doing

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in heavy vehicles such as trucks, buses, and superstructure equipment
• Perform scheduled service and maintenance activities including inspections, flush and filling of engine, brake, clutch oil etc, oil filter/seal replacement, brake pads replacement, tyres replacement/rotation and component replacements
• Test and calibrate vehicle systems to meet manufacturer specifications
• Usage of diagnostic tools, special tools, equipment to ensure accurate and effective repair works
• Maintain detailed records of all repairs and maintenance activities
• Collaborate with the engineering team to identify and implement process improvements
• Ensure adherence to all relevant safety regulations and company policies

What we’re looking for:

• At least 5 years of experience as a heavy vehicle mechanic in the Automotive and/or Mechanical Engineering industry
• Must have a valid Singapore Class 3 manual driving license (plus point if you have a valid Class 4 license) - those without need not apply!
• Strong technical knowledge of heavy vehicle systems and components
• Knowledge of engine and gearbox overhaul
• Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and tools, and/or conduct manual inspections and assessments of heavy vehicles to identify potential issues and develop repair plans.
• Experience of handling Euro 3 to 5 engine (plus point if you have experience of handling Euro 6 engine)
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality repair work
• Commitment to delivering high-quality work and excellent customer service
• Valid heavy vehicle mechanic certification or diploma
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in simple English
• Ability to work independently and a good team player
• Must be able to work 6 days a week
