Job summary

Synapxe invites an intern to join its Data Science & AI team and contribute to AI-powered health tech in Singapore. You will work on wearable sensor analytics, time-series data, computer vision, OCR, and generative AI projects affecting healthcare outcomes.

As an intern, you will develop practical skills, collaborate with clinicians and engineers, and gain exposure to model development, evaluation, and deployment in real-world healthcare scenarios.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate student in Year 2 or 3 pursuing a degree in a relevant field.
• Strong Python programming and solid coding fundamentals.
• Basic understanding of ML/DS concepts, including data analysis and model evaluation.
• Hands-on experience with common AI/ML libraries like NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow.
• Familiarity with data processing, model development, and evaluation methodologies.
• Exposure to areas like Computer Vision, Time-Series, Sensor Data Analytics, Generative AI, LLMs, OCR.
• Familiarity with Git and collaboration workflows.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform data analysis on healthcare datasets.
• Process and analyze wearable sensor and time-series data.
• Develop ML/DL models for healthcare applications.
• Explore computer vision techniques for image, video, and document analysis.
• Investigate OCR, document understanding, and multimodal AI workflows.
• Evaluate and benchmark ML, computer vision, and LLM models.
• Conduct literature reviews on emerging AI technologies and healthcare applications.
• Support model training, validation, optimization, and deployment activities.
• Collaborate with clinicians, software engineers, and researchers to translate healthcare challenges into AI solutions.
• Document methodologies, experiment results, and technical findings.
