Job summary

NSL OILCHEM WASTE MANAGEMENT PTE. LTD. is seeking a Safety and Environment professional to develop and implement fire and ESH frameworks, manage risks, and train staff in accordance with MOM, SCDF, and other regulatory requirements.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety or related field, a MOM-registered safety officer, and at least 5 years of ESH experience in chemical or hazardous waste environments. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field.
• Registered Safety Officer with MOM.
• FSM qualifications recognized by SCDF for registration as site FSM.
• At least 5 years of ESH experience in chemical, petrochemical, hazardous waste management, or other manufacturing environment.
• Extensive knowledge of relevant legislative requirements, regulations, and best practices.
• Experience in logistics and fleet management.
• Proactive and meticulous with good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Organised and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Developing and implementing a framework of fire and ESH policies, risks management, training programs and compliant enforcement.
• Proactive driver for compliance to regulatory requirements (MOM, NEA, PUB, SCDF, LTA) and safety and occupational health practices.
• Safety expert advisor in engineering & process designs, and procurement of plant & machineries and services.
• Maintaining certification of EMS/OHSMS standards and BizSafe Level Star.
• Promoting safety culture amongst stakeholders and contractors to prevent injuries.
• Planning events to promote fire and occupational safety and health awareness.
• Safe Management Officer (SMO) to implement and monitor Safe Management Measures at the workplace.
• Inspects facilities, plants, and equipment for fire, safety, health, and environmental risks.
• Checks validity of operational licenses, approvals and equipment certifications.
• Walks the shop floor to monitor compliance with safety procedures and environmental measures.
• Conducts risk assessments and investigates workplace accidents and near misses.
• Prepares investigation/inspection reports with findings and recommendations.
• Ensures GHS and Safety Data Sheets are maintained and accessible.
• Prepares and schedules training on emergency procedures and safety topics.
