The Health and Wellness Coach will play a crucial role in supporting clients to achieve their health and wellness goals. By providing education, guidance, and motivation, the coach will empower clients to make sustainable lifestyle changes.
Job Responsibilities
Client Support and Motivation:
- Conduct personalized health coaching sessions, assessing individual patient needs and tailoring strategies to support varying levels of adherence and motivation.
- Empower and motivate clients to make sustainable behavioral changes aligned with their treatment plans and health goals.
- Provide continuous support, encouragement, and guidance throughout the coaching process.
- Provide support via Health Coaching WhatsApp line for patient enquiries during office hours.
- Assist clients in setting SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound) goals and provide strategies for success.
Health Education:
- Coach patients on foundational holistic health principles, including sleep hygiene, stress management techniques, and nutritional guidance (both Western and TCM perspectives).
- Provide evidence-based health information and resources, sharing national guidelines and recommendations where appropriate.
Collaboration and Referrals:
- Collaborate closely with our TCM Physicians and other clinic staff to ensure integrated patient care and seamless referral pathways.
- Encourage appropriate referrals from physicians when necessary to address specific client needs beyond the scope of treatments.
- Assist in gathering patient testimonials and feedback to showcase successful outcomes and improve service delivery.
Clinic Operations Support:
- Act as an ambassador for the clinic's technology-enhanced services, educating patients on their benefits.
- Handle patient inquiries with professionalism and empathy.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring proper documentation of coaching sessions and clinic interactions.
- Support overall clinic operations with various administrative tasks as needed.
Professional Conduct:
- Uphold the highest standards of customer service, ensuring a positive and supportive experience for all patients.
- Be a proactive team player, willing to assist colleagues and contribute beyond defined responsibilities when needed, especially during peak clinic hours.
- Adhere strictly to confidentiality and data privacy regulations in Singapore.
Knowledge:
- Basic understanding of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) principles, particularly the concept of different body constitutions, ideally proficient in spoken and written Chinese.
- Foundational knowledge in holistic health areas including sleep hygiene, stress management techniques, and both Western and TCM nutritional principles.
Skills:
- Proven coaching techniques to guide, motivate, and empower individuals towards health goals.
- Good ability to identify and personalize coaching sessions for diverse patient needs and varying levels of adherence.
- Strong customer service orientation with good interpersonal skills.
Attitude:
- Possesses a strong "can-do" attitude and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Dynamic and adaptable, thriving in a fast-paced and evolving clinical environment.
- Highly proactive, consistently identifying opportunities for improvement and taking initiative to implement solutions.
- Committed to continuous learning and professional development in health coaching and holistic health.
Job Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Health Sciences, Nutrition, Psychology, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in health coaching, wellness counseling, or a patient-facing role, preferably in a healthcare or clinic setting.
- Optional: Certification from a recognized health coaching program is a plus.
