Job description

We are seeking a strategic, execution-focused leader to serve as the Head of Technology Strategy & Corporate Functions. This pivotal role reports directly to the CIO and is instrumental in driving alignment, operational effectiveness, and transformation outcomes across the IT organisation.

The successful candidate will oversee core corporate functions including IT Finance, Procurement, and the Technology Secretariat, ensuring their seamless integration and performance. Beyond operational oversight, this role will lead key initiatives related to technology strategy development, transformation delivery, communications, and talent development.

This is a highly visible position requiring exceptional stakeholder engagement, the ability to communicate effectively across both technical and non-technical audiences, strong cross-functional collaboration, and the credibility to influence senior leadership.

Responsibilities:-

Corporate Functions Oversight

Lead and coordinate key corporate functions supporting the Technology Division, including:

  • Technology Finance & Budgeting: Ensure transparency, tracking, and optimization of IT spend.
  • Procurement & Vendor Engagement: Support strategic sourcing, contracting, and supplier governance.
  • Technology Secretariat: Manage governance forums, operating rhythms, and senior reporting processes.

Strategy, Planning & Transformation Execution

  • Partner with the CIO and leadership team to shape and cascade the Technology Division’s strategic priorities.
  • Drive execution of key transformation initiatives, tracking milestones, interdependencies, and risks across work streams.
  • Lead the preparation of strategic materials for senior management, Group stakeholders, and board-level engagements.

Communications & Advocacy

  • Develop high-impact presentations, reports, and narratives to support internal and external communication by the CIO and leadership team.
  • Act as a key liaison with Group functions, business units, and external partners on strategic and operational matters.
  • Facilitate alignment and engagement across the technology leadership team.

People Development & Sector Enablement

  • Champion talent development, succession planning, and culture-building efforts within the Technology Sector.
  • Design and implement engagement programs, townhalls, and sector-wide communication cascades.
  • Support organisational health and workforce planning initiatives in partnership with HR.

Requirements:-

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, or related discipline; MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in technology management, division office, chief of staff, strategy, or transformation leadership.
  • Prior experience working with or within IT leadership teams in a complex organisation, preferably in financial services.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and execution skills.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation capabilities, with the ability to distil complexity into clarity.
  • Proven experience managing senior stakeholders, with excellent influencing and relationship-building abilities.
  • Understanding of technology spend, budgeting, and procurement processes.
  • Highly organised, adaptable, and comfortable navigating ambiguity.
  • Collaborative leadership style with a focus on enablement and delivery.
