Head of Sustainability Department

APECO is seeking a dynamic and visionary Department Head for our Sustainability Department to lead and drive our green initiatives in line with our long-term commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable development.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead the development and execution of the company's sustainability strategy.
2. Provide expertise and oversight on renewable energy projects including solar, wind, EV and hydrogen.
3. Monitor, manage, and report on carbon emissions, and actively participate in the carbon credits market.
4. Leverage energy management software to track, analyse, and optimize energy consumption across operations.
5. Collaborate with the Marketing Department to prepare technical content for tenders and proposals, ensuring accurate and compelling sustainability-related submissions.
6. Prepare and publish the company’s Sustainability Report, ensuring compliance with international standards and regulatory requirements.
7. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with global sustainability trends and compliance requirements.
8. Drive innovation and support cross-functional initiatives focused on sustainable operations and decarbonization efforts.

Requirements:

1. A Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field. A Master’s Degree would be an added advantage.
2. Proven track record with at least 12 years of relevant experience in the fields of renewable energy, carbon management, or sustainable development.
3. Solid knowledge of carbon markets, ESG frameworks, climate policies, and emerging green technologies.
4. Hands-on experience with energy management software (e.g., Energy Star Portfolio Manager, Enablon, EcoStruxure, etc.).
5. Experience working on tender submissions and proposals, preferably in collaboration with marketing or business development teams.
6. Experience in preparing and publishing corporate Sustainability Reports in accordance with global standards (e.g., GRI, TCFD, or ISSB).
7. Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
8. Passion for sustainability and a proactive mindset toward environmental stewardship.
