Head of Software & Data Engineering

Manufacturing industry

Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of 20+ engineers spanning software development, database administration, and IoT engineering to drive intelligent manufacturing systems and digital transformation initiatives for our cutting-edge, software-defined factory.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and deploy scalable IoT platforms (Thingworx, Kepware) integrated with public/private cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Design and implement comprehensive data pipelines, data lakes, and warehouses to unify data assets for advanced analytics
• Drive the implementation of AI/MLOps and simulation technologies (PlantSim, Nvidia Omniverse) to create intelligent manufacturing systems
• Evaluate and define requirements for deploying IoT, AI, and simulation technologies at enterprise scale
• Lead technical strategy development while providing hands-on guidance and troubleshooting for complex data connectivity and database challenges
• Foster collaboration between digital transformation teams and IoT/data engineers, aligning technical efforts with business objectives
• Establish robust data governance policies ensuring regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR) and maintain data quality control measures
• Oversee software projects from planning to deployment, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards
• Implement Agile/Scrum methodologies and drive continuous process improvements across teams

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related disciplines
• Minimum 13 years of experience in IT/OT systems, data architecture, software development, and system development
• Proven technical team management experience managing 20+ team members with ability to motivate collaborative work environments
• Strong proficiency in programming languages including Python, SQL, Java, and C++
• Deep expertise in building data pipelines (OLTP to OLAP), open-source and relational databases, and advanced data modeling techniques
• Hands-on experience with Big Data technologies, cloud computing platforms, and data analytics tools
• Technical proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience with GitLab, C#, Java, Spring Boot, Vue.js, and React.js
• Strong project management and time management capabilities
• Excellent problem-solving skills for identifying root causes of complex technical issues
• Outstanding communication skills for effective stakeholder collaboration
