The Head of Operations leads and manages the Operations team (Slot management, local logistics, local operations and husbandry) to deliver smooth and efficient operational activities aligned with PIL’s strategic objectives. This role is part of the country leadership team and is responsible for driving operational excellence, cost-effectiveness and supporting the agency’s 2026 aspirations. The Head of Operations will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the seamless delivery of operations while fostering a high-performing and engaged team.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee End-to-End Operations
Lead and manage all aspects of local operations, slot management, and local logistics to ensure smooth and timely execution of operational activities in line with vessel schedules and customer expectations.
Ensure Resource Planning and Daily Execution
Allocate resources effectively and develop daily operational plans that ensure operational readiness, cost-efficiency, and responsiveness to evolving priorities.
Drive Process Discipline and Operational Standards
Ensure adherence to SOPs, reinforce accountability across teams, and foster a culture of precision and operational discipline in execution.
Collaborate Across Functions For Seamless Delivery
Work closely with Customer Service, Sales, regional and HQ functions, customers and external vendors to resolve issues, optimize outcomes, and ensure seamless execution.
Enable Performance and Improvement
Monitor performance against key operational KPIs and continuously identify areas for improvement in cost, turnaround, container dwell time, and slot utilization.
Support Strategic Objectives
Align operations with the SG agency’s broader goals, including supporting the 2026 aspirations and transformation initiatives, while balancing day-to-day performance and long-term improvements.
