Job summary

A leading drilling company is seeking a Vessel / Operation Support role. This position entails a variety of responsibilities including sailing plan reviews, cargo operation oversight, and supervising marine activities across departments. Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in a marine-related field and have experience as a Master on chemical tankers or similar vessels.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Master on board chemical tankers or other tankers is required.

Responsibilities

  • Review sailing plans and provide weather forecasts.
  • Advise on cargo handling procedures and oversee tank cleaning operations.
  • Manage budget control and conduct audits for ship management.

Skills

Excellent command of English
Business-level Japanese
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Job description

Vessel / Operation Support

Responsibilities include:

  • Sailing plan review
  • Providing weather forecasts and sheltering plans for typhoons
  • Providing piracy/robbery information
  • GoA transit planning

Cargo Operation / Tank Cleaning

  • Advising on port/berth selection for safe cargo operations
  • Advising cargo handling procedures
  • Planning and monitoring tank cleaning activities
  • Gathering information for special cargo operations

Chartering Support

  • Monitoring vetting status and coordinating vetting plans
  • Assessing new cargoes

Supervising Ship Management Company

  • Managing budget control for MOLCT Fleet and Managers
  • Approving senior officers' relief plans
  • Conducting management company audits
  • Monitoring TC vessel performance

Supervising Overseas Departments Related to Marine Activities

  • Overseeing marine departments in Copenhagen and Houston

New Vessel Building Projects

  • Overall planning and supervision

Routine Work

  • Participating in QSC, MSC, SMC meetings
  • Handling incidents
  • Managing Emergency Command Center operations
  • Issuing warnings and circulars

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a marine-related field
  • Excellent command of English and business-level Japanese
  • Experience as a Master on board chemical tankers or other tankers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
