What You'll Do

We're looking for a Head of Global Talent Acquisition to lead global hiring strategy, support organizational transformation, and elevate the TA function to the next level.

Reporting to the VP, Global Talent Acquisition, you will help evolve how we attract, engage, and hire talent worldwide, focusing on strategic leadership, operational excellence, and enabling a Talent Acquisition function. You'll partner with senior business and People leaders, leading initiatives that shape our hiring practices now and in the future.

What Your Responsibilities Will Be
  1. Provide global TA leadership across multiple business units, acting as a trusted partner to executive partners and HR colleagues.
  2. Lead strategic hiring programs aligned to business goals, emphasizing scalable, inclusive, and data-informed recruiting practices.
  3. Drive change management efforts, supporting process optimization, new technology rollouts, and best practice adoption.
  4. Design and implement upskilling, training, and enablement programs for recruiters and hiring managers.
  5. Champion continuous improvement through performance data analysis, identifying gaps, and leading process improvements.
  6. Contribute to long-term workforce planning by analyzing labor market trends and competitive intelligence.
  7. Collaborate with Finance, People & Culture, and business leaders to align recruiting efforts with organizational planning.
  8. Promote inclusivity in hiring, championing diversity, equity, and belonging strategies and actions.
  9. Be a visible culture carrier and thought partner, promoting Avalara's values and employer brand internally and externally.
What You'll Need To Be Successful
  1. 10+ years of progressive talent acquisition management experience in global environments, with a record of strategic leadership in high-growth settings.
  2. Experience leading transformation initiatives, including change management and process improvements.
  3. Ability to influence and align stakeholders across complex, matrixed organizations.
  4. Experience enabling recruiters and hiring managers through training, tools, and best practices.
  5. Deep understanding of recruiting analytics and data-driven decision-making.
  6. Experience in high-tech or startup environments, with a mix of agency and in-house experience.
  7. Success in creating inclusive recruiting strategies that reduce bias and promote equity.
  8. Authentic leadership style rooted in collaboration, communication, and curiosity.
