Job description

Head of Finance and Bizops JD

Overview

Momos is a rapidly growing startup headquartered in San Diego and Singapore, building AI for customers at every location. Momos works with leading enterprise multi-location brands and QSRs globally, such as Firehouse Subs, Shake Shack, and Baskin Robbins, and powers the entire customer stack with AI for 20,000 locations globally.

We are looking for a Head of Finance & BizOps to join our leadership team and steer the strategic finance, business operations, and sales operations of Momos. You will work closely with our founders and department leads across regions to shape financial direction, ensure operational scalability, and enable data-driven decisions across the business. This is a high-impact, strategic role suited for someone with strong financial acumen, operational leadership experience, and a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset. Quite transparently, we are looking for someone to roll up their sleeves, fight fires when they come, and solve the company’s most interesting challenges.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment, and who enjoys turning ambiguity into action while building out core processes and financial infrastructure from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Finance

  • Own company-wide financial planning, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Lead budgeting processes across functions and geographies.
  • Create board-ready financial reports and investor materials.
  • Manage capital allocation, runway planning, and scenario modeling.

Business Operations

  • Partner cross-functionally to identify operational inefficiencies and design scalable systems.
  • Establish and manage internal KPIs and dashboards for team performance and financial health.
  • Drive pricing strategy, vendor management, and procurement planning.
  • Support international expansion from a financial and operational compliance lens.

People & Leadership

  • Build and manage a high-performing finance and operations team.
  • Work closely with Legal, People, and external partners (e.g., auditors, tax advisors) to ensure compliance across jurisdictions.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to the founders and leadership team on business and financial decisions.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Forecast accuracy and budget adherence
  • Runway and cash flow management
  • Gross margin and profitability improvements
  • Operational efficiency (process turnaround time, cost savings)
  • Timely and accurate reporting to leadership and board

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in Investment Banking, Venture Capital, Private Equity, finance and/or business operations, preferably in a startup or high-growth tech environment.
  • Proven experience in leading financial planning, analysis, and strategy.
  • Strong command of accounting principles, financial modeling, and SaaS metrics.
  • Experience in international operations and working with cross-border teams.
  • Exceptional project management, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience with financial systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and BI tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field (MBA or CPA a plus).

Benefits

  • Private Health Insurance
  • Paid Time Off
  • Global travel insurance (when it’s safe to travel!)
  • Annual learning & development allowance

Cultural Values

  • Mission-driven and fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • A collaborative and flat company culture.
  • Discretionary trips to our offices across the globe.
  • Cross-cultural team bonding/networking.
  • Love Food? Join our Team!

Equal Opportunity

Momos is an equal opportunity workplace where we embrace diversity and different cultures. We started as an international company, and know that building an organization with different experiences, thoughts, and opinions allows our team to grow and excel.
