Working alongside our Architecture team, Risk and Enablement team, and Platform Operations, you will lead a team of engineers, and collaborate with external delivery partners and contractors to support our venture teams with their implementations. This role will also support our SCV platform team with technology / engineering expertise to ensure we have appropriate tools and applications available to support our business needs.

Strategy

Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including venture teams, technology team peers, and senior leadership, to ensure technical solutions are aligned with business goals and meet technology and ICS governance requirements.

Business
  • Negotiate contracts and engagement terms with vendors, ensuring delivery expectations, service levels, and financials are clearly defined and maintained.
  • Manage relationships and oversee delivery quality from partner delivery vendors, ensuring effective onboarding, delivery performance tracking, and alignment to venture and platform outcomes.
  • Provide oversight of vendor performance, including resource allocation, delivery velocity, quality assurance, and issue resolution.
  • Plan and oversee the delivery of technical solutions for ventures and the SCV platform.
  • Lead proof-of-concept (PoC) engineering activities using internal and external resources to validate emerging technologies and business opportunities.
  • Oversee a small group of fractional CTOs supporting specific ventures to ensure they are following expected methodologies and delivering expected outcomes. When required, work as a fractional CTO on ventures in early stages of the venture building lifecycle.
Processes
  • Oversee the delivery of scalable, secure, and high-quality solutions against business requirements, architectural designs, and platform strategies, while adhering to organisational SDLC and orchestration requirements, and aligning to Technology and Information and Cyber Security (ICS) governance expectations.
People & Talent
  • Lead and mentor a small in-house engineering team to plan and deliver solutions for ventures in areas such as UX/UI, frontend, backend, AI/ML, Blockchain, Web3, cloud engineering, and DevSecOps.
  • Remain technically current and able to engage hands-on in development if required, especially during early-stage builds and/or PoC initiatives.
Risk Management and Governance
  • Work within the SCV Enterprise Risk Management Framework to ensure solutions are compliant with SCV Technology and ICS governance requirements and within SCV Risk Appetite.
  • Proactively assess and prioritize activities considering risk and potential impact. Communicate assumptions and decisions made in solution delivery that may impact Technology and ICS risk.
Qualifications

  • Experience working across multiple ventures or product lines simultaneously.
