The Head of Credit Management will oversee the firm's credit operations, driving the development and implementation of credit risk policies, processes, and strategies to ensure robust risk management while enabling business growth. This position calls for an experienced professional with exceptional leadership, analytical expertise, and stakeholder management skills to effectively balance risk and opportunity in a fast-paced securities brokerage environment.

The role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the Credit Management department's overall functions, ensuring policies, systems, and procedures align with business objectives.
  • Review trading representatives’ and clients’ trading exposures and limits.
  • Monitor collection of outstanding contra losses, review monthly status reports, and address escalations as needed.
  • Liaise with solicitors regarding litigation matters and represent the firm in credit-related legal and regulatory queries.
  • Handle queries from the Stock Exchange (e.g., SGX) related to trading representatives and/or clients.
  • Approve various requests, such as amendments, payment extensions, privilege waivers, and trust account withdrawals.
  • Review and manage financial matters, including remisiers’ commission payments, dealer statements, and payouts, ensuring they align with risk and credit policies.
  • Handle complaints from trading representatives and clients professionally and in accordance with regulatory and internal policies.
  • Institute and enforce systems and controls to manage risk exposures and ensure compliance with SGX, MAS, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Provide strategic insights and reports to senior management, highlighting credit risk trends, regulatory changes, and mitigation measures.
Principal Accountabilities

  • Timely and accurate handling of client and representative queries, including Stock Exchange inquiries.
Requirements
  • Outstanding academic record with a degree in Business, Finance, or Economics; a master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM) is preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in credit risk management or related fields in the securities brokerage or financial industry.
  • Strong analytical and risk assessment skills.
  • Deep understanding of financial products and regulatory frameworks, including SGX and MAS requirements.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication abilities.
  • Proven track record in managing teams.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
