Job description
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Business Development & Leadership
Develop and execute comprehensive business strategies that align with long-term corporate goals, driving both revenue growth and market positioning.
Lead initiatives to grow the structured finance portfolio, including project finance, syndicated loans, and corporate loans.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the structured finance and investment product sectors, expanding the Bank’s offerings and supporting long-term growth.
Design and execute strategies for successful product and service development, including evaluating market needs and crafting tailored financial solutions.
Project Finance, Syndicated Loans & ECA Financing
Oversee the strategic direction of project finance and syndicated loans ensuring they align with the Bank’s broader business goals and market positioning.
Lead efforts in structuring and closing ECA financing projects, liaising with key stakeholders to ensure proper execution and risk management.
Review, assess, and provide feedback on finance documents, ensuring all terms and conditions are met before closing deals.
Administer day-to-day operations of syndicated loans, including processing drawdowns, rate fixing, billing, prepayment, and other related tasks.
Work closely with legal counsels, financial parties, and borrowers to ensure all conditions precedent and subsequent are satisfied for deal closing.
Manage amendment/waiver requests and ensure proper filing of returns in compliance with regulatory timelines.
Financial Modelling & Risk Management
Lead financial modelling and risk assessment efforts to evaluate deal opportunities and optimize capital allocation.
Develop innovative and tailored financing structures, working with cross-functional teams to create solutions that mitigate risks and meet client needs.
Develop risk mitigation frameworks to manage financial, operational, and market risks associated with various projects and investment products.
Continuously assess financial portfolios and recommend adjustments to ensure optimal performance.
Investment Products & Portfolio Management
Lead the strategic development of investment products, ensuring alignment with evolving market trends and client needs to optimize long-term growth.
Lead the monitoring and performance analysis of investment portfolios, making recommendations for adjustments based on key performance indicators (KPIs).
Actively seek out new investment opportunities to expand the structured finance and investment product portfolios, driving revenue growth and enhancing the Bank’s market position.
Stakeholder & Relationship Management
Cultivate strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including senior management, investors and industry leaders ensuring alignment with the Bank’s long-term strategic objectives.
Communicate complex financial concepts clearly to senior management and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business objectives and strategies.
Provide guidance, coaching, and training to junior staff to develop their skills and enhance the overall team’s capabilities regarding projects.
Process Improvement & Operational Efficiency
Oversee the identification and implementation of strategic initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and align business processes with corporate goals.
Coordinate and participate in projects aimed at enhancing systems and processes, ensuring alignment with business needs and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with internal teams to prepare comprehensive reports for leadership on performance, risks, and opportunities within the structured finance and business development functions.
Regulatory Compliance & Reporting
Ensure the Bank’s long-term strategy is in compliance with regulatory frameworks, anticipating and mitigating potential risks.
Key Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (such as CPA, CFA) are highly desirable.
Minimum of 15 years of experience in business development, project finance, syndication loans, ECA financing, or investment products.
In-depth knowledge and experience in structuring project finance deals, syndication loan operations, and ECA financing, with a proven ability to manage and close complex transactions.
Strong background in financial modelling, risk management, and investment product development.
Familiarity with financial documents, legal terms, and compliance regulations, with the ability to interpret and negotiate key finance agreements.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization and with external partners.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), with advanced skills in financial modelling and presentation preparation.
Ability to work under pressure and demonstrate a hands-on, analytical approach to problem-solving.
Proficient in written and oral business Korean to liaise effectively with Korean counterparts and prepare management reports for Parent Bank.
