Job description

Purpose of the Role:

This senior leadership role is tailored to an exceptional commercial leader with deep, hands-on expertise in the Pulp & Paper (P&P) industry, covering instrumentation, consumables, software and process control solutions. The candidate will be responsible for scaling our operations in South and Southeast Asia, managing cross-regional teams, owning P&L delivery, and spearheading commercial excellence and innovation across a demanding and evolving customer base.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive and deliver regional business growth across South Asia and Southeast Asia with full P&L accountability.
  • Develop and execute market strategies tailored to the P&P sector, including chemical pulping, bleaching, chemical recovery, DIP, mechanical pulping, and paper machine operations (packaging/tissue/graphic grades).
  • Establish and maintain senior executive (C-suite) relationships across the ASPAC region, particularly in Asia.
  • Represent us in end-to-end technology, instrumentation, and software solutions, including APC (Advanced Process Controls) and data management platforms.
  • Lead a geographically dispersed team, managing across time zones with flexibility for after-hours engagements.
  • Negotiate and close large-scale industrial software and APC contracts tailored to P&P production processes.
  • Collaborate with channel partners and internal functional leads to ensure alignment with strategic and operational goals.
  • Develop and lead strategic customer accounts through trusted advisory relationships, building sustainable value and performance gains.

Required Experience & Expertise:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Pulp & Paper Technology (required)
  • Total experience 20+ years with a regional and 10+ years of senior commercial leadership in global/regional roles within the pulp & paper industry.
  • Demonstrated success in negotiating and deploying large-scale APC and software contracts tailored to the P&P sector.
  • Proven experience in managing regional business units with P&L responsibility, ideally across ASPAC.
  • Must have a proven network of clients and track records

Deep technical expertise in:

  • Chemical pulping and bleaching process control
  • Chemical recovery
  • DIP/mechanical pulp processes
  • Paper machine operations (across grades)
  • Specialty instrumentation (sensors and analyzers)
  • Data management software and advanced process control
  • Industry network at senior level across ASPAC/global, including direct C-Suite access.
  • Previous leadership of multidisciplinary and regional teams, with ability to build high-performance cultures.
