Role Overview
The Head of Wealth Business Development and Partnerships is responsible for expanding strong relationships with qualified product manufacturers and driving the client growth through partnerships. This role plays a critical part in expanding the wealth franchise by optimizing the firm’s partnerships with investment and product issuers, originating new partnership opportunities, and strengthening strategic alliances.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Manufacturer & Issuer Relationships
- Lead and manage relationships with product manufacturers and issuers — including fund managers, structured product issuers, and alternative investment providers.
- Negotiate commercial terms, distribution agreements, and product economics to ensure competitive offerings and attractive returns.
- Collaborate with the Product and Investment teams to identify product gaps and co-develop innovative investment solutions tailored to client needs.
- Monitor partner performance, product shelf quality, and market competitiveness across asset classes.
- Facilitate joint marketing, training, and client engagement initiatives with product partners.
2. Business Development
- Develop and execute strategies to grow client base within affluent and HNWI client segments.
- Build a strong pipeline of prospective clients, intermediaries, and referral sources to support AUM growth targets.
- Work with Product, Marketing, and Digital teams to create differentiated value propositions and go-to-market campaigns.
- Track business performance, pipeline conversion, and revenue contribution from new client initiatives.
3. Strategic Partnerships
- Identify, negotiate, and manage partnerships that enhance client acquisition, distribution reach, and wealth ecosystem connectivity — including financial intermediaries, fintechs, family offices, and external asset managers.
- Develop and maintain referral and co-branded partnership programs to generate qualified leads and expand market coverage.
- Represent the Wealth business in partnership discussions, ensuring alignment with compliance, risk, and brand standards.
4. Collaboration & Leadership
- Work closely with internal stakeholders — including Client Advisory, Product & Investment, Marketing, and Compliance — to deliver cohesive growth initiatives.
- Provide market insights, competitive benchmarking, and partnership intelligence to support strategic decision‑making.
- Build and lead a small team of business development and partnership managers.
- Assist Head of Wealth Management in designing and implementing wealth management internal workflows.
- Coordinate internal functions and external vendors in executing wealth management workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Economics.
- 3-5 years of experience in brokerage or wealth management industry, with demonstrated expertise in business development and partnerships.
- Strong knowledge of wealth management products — including structured products, and hedge funds.
- Proven success in managing relationships with product manufacturers, issuers, and channel partners.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Cross‑functional collaboration and coordination skills.
- Strategic thinker with strong commercial and execution capabilities.
